Next level for Profielnorm
Quick facts:
- An impressive project with a height of over 60 feet
- Special column baseplates due to the high column loads
- 134 feet x 95 feet (5 levels)
- Reinforced framing to support the conveyors
The challenge:
The customer wanted the maximum possible number of floors with sufficient clearance per floor. Installing a mezzanine with a height of more than 60 feet could be difficult in the available space. An extra challenge was the short-term delivery and installation of the multi-tier mezzanine.
Our solution:
The challenge of the maximum permissible column load on the concrete hall floor emerged during the engineering process. After several discussions with our engineering department, we came up with the ultimate solution: a baseplate with 8 welded ribs on an extra weighted foot plate of over 18 inches square with a horizontally welded connection plate for the passage to the top. To be able to achieve a height of more than 60 feet and to to maximize our assembly competencies, a spliced column was determined to be the best solution.
