Core/objective of the function
The Project Engineer produces sales drawings, calculates and then elaborates projects using HiCAD software. He also maintains contacts with internal and external customers on technical project issues.
Place in the organization
- The Project Engineer is part of the Engineering department.
- The Project Engineer is accountable to the Lead Project Engineer and General Manager.
- The Project Engineer works together with a sales team, including a Sales Representative and Sales Back Office.
Summary of tasks and responsibilities
- Carries out work in accordance with the procedures drawn up in the company handbook
- Reports daily to the manager on the progress of the projects and any challenges discovered
- Jointly responsible for achieving the departmental objectives
- Participates in the team’s meeting(s)
- Inputs the site survey data into a comprehensible digital drawing, using HiCAD software
- Verifies whether the production information and other necessities provided comply with the specifications and standards/regulations. Consults with the involved sales representative when required Provides production drawings, bill of materials and assembly drawings
- The Project Engineer is responsible for delivering a positive result in the project budget, and while doing so bears in mind the engineering (assembly, production, cost price)
- Monitors the projects’ progress within the agreed milestones
- Maintains contact with the various departments and external customers regarding ongoing projects (technical project issues)
- Optimization of HiCAD by means of API programming and so on
