Profielnorm Breaks Ground on 54,000-Square-Foot Manufacturing Facility in Plainwell, Michigan
Plainwell, MI – May 7, 2025 – Profielnorm, a leading designer, manufacturer, and installer of mezzanines built from cold-formed steel beams, is excited to announce the groundbreaking of its new 54,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Plainwell, Michigan. This strategic investment marks a major milestone in the company’s U.S. expansion and strengthens its commitment to delivering faster, more efficient service with localized expertise to customers across the country.
Since launching its U.S. operations in January 2023 with the opening of a commercial office in Kalamazoo, Profielnorm has quickly gained traction. In 2024 alone, the company shipped over 100 containers of its signature cold-formed mezzanine systems to the U.S. The new facility represents the next big step—bringing production stateside to better meet growing demand and support customers with faster turnaround times and American-based manufacturing.

Construction is now underway, with heavy equipment preparing the site in Plainwell. The new facility is expected to be fully operational by mid-2026, bringing new job opportunities to the area and establishing a dedicated U.S.-based production and installation team.
Profielnorm currently operates two manufacturing plants in the Netherlands and one in the United Kingdom, in addition to a long-standing sales and engineering center in Poland. The Plainwell facility will be the company’s first manufacturing site in the United States—marking a major step forward in expanding its global presence and delivering even greater value to American customers.

As construction moves forward, Profielnorm is actively preparing to recruit a wide range of positions to support operations at the new facility. “We’re excited to welcome new colleagues who want to be part of an ambitious, family-owned company as we grow in the U.S.”, says Henry Dingemans, Managing Director Profielnorm USA.
